I grew up horse crazy (like you, perhaps). After high school, I saved my money and bought my first off-the-track-thoroughbred in my early twenties. A friend introduced me to dressage, and I quickly realized the need to learn how to effectively communicate with my horse through my rein, leg, seat and weight aids. I've been a passionate student ever since. Twenty years later, I acquired my first naturally gaited horse. Dressage became our method of communication, in and out of the arena. For me, dressage is an attitude of partnership with my horse. Dressage helps me lead my horse into relaxation of mind and body, balance, forward movement without rushing, rhythm, connection, symmetry, and collection over time to develop quality smooth gaits and long term soundness. This website, blog, videos, and social media channels are meant to share what I have learned with my naturally gaited horses using dressage to develop smooth gaits and a joy-filled partnership.
